The Technology Consultant will be responsible for advising, planning, designing, and installing information technology for SDS Technology customers.

The Technology Consultant will be the first line of defense for a wide variety of area businesses. Responsibilities will center on owning, remedying, and closing customer technology issues. Other responsibilities include:
• Consult with client staff, including phone support, on-site client work, research, and estimates
• Analyze client’s organization data to determine system requirements and define project objectives
• Make recommendations, such as suggesting appropriate hardware, software, and systems
• Configure and install newly purchased network servers, personal computers, related hardware, and software
• Train users in new and existing IT systems
• Email support and solutions using Microsoft Exchange, Outlook, and Office 365
• Backup support and solutions • Firewall support and solutions
• Virus protection support and solutions
• Maintain case ownership and direct interaction with client, including responding to feedback

The Technology Consultant should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify and explain technical concepts to non-technical end-users, strong interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation, and the ability to work a flexible schedule. Other skills and abilities should include:
• Experience administering, installing, and maintaining Microsoft Exchange Server
• Comprehensive knowledge of Windows, Windows Servers, and Microsoft Office
• Experience with Network Printers
• Experience with unified communications
• Strong technical comprehension
• Must be able to learn and support new and quickly emerging technologies
• Detail orientated
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
• Two or four-year degree in business or technology-related field preferred
