Description

Please Join us for our quarterly HR Roundtable - virtually!
We are pleased to have Labor Attorney Scott Cruz join us for this webinar.  He has a wide variety of topics to cover, including:

  • Paid leave under FFCRA, and ensuring you are informing employees of their right to leave, and offering it to them. Employers are now getting sued by employees claiming their employer never informed them of their right to paid leave.
  • Paid leave under FFCRA when daycare/summer camps are not an option (or parents voluntarily don’t feel comfortable sending the kid), or schools won’t be reopening in the Fall
  • Should employers take employees’ temperatures or require they sign a daily COVID-questionnaire each day before they come to work.
  • Should employers require employees/visitors to sign a COVID release, and how valid are these releases?
  • Can employers require employee to take a COVID test as a condition of employment, and/or to return to work following a COVID- leave? (the answer is yes).  When they do require, employers must pay for the cost of the test, if health insurance doesn’t pick it up.
  • Accommodating employees who claim they can’t wear a mask based on a pre-existing medical condition.
  • Reclassifying exempt employees to non-exempt if there is not enough work t justify paying a full weeks’ salary
  • Reducing exempt employee’s salary, for similar reasons of lack of work.
  • Reimbursing employees’ business-related expenses while working remotely.
  • Are your outside sales employees still “outside sales employees” if no one is taking in-person meetings?
  • Dept. of Labor hiring over 500 new investigators to go after employers who are misclassifying workers or not paying them properly (big deal).
