Married to Ellen for past 37 years, 2 children Alexis, who is a RE/MAX real estate agent in Destin Florida and Austin who lives and works in Aviston Il. Effingham resident for the past 32 years. Co-Owner managing Broker, RE/MAX Key Advantage for the past 25 years. Previously owner manager of Rural King Supply. Graduated SIU-C with Bachelors and again with MBA, not telling you the year.
Michael P. Karibian currently serves as Corporate Treasurer for Midland States Bancorp, Inc., a $6 billion Bank holding company headquartered in Effingham, Illinois. Mr. Karibian has been with Midland since November 2010 and has responsibility for the corporation’s balance sheet, interest rate risk (ALCO), investment portfolios, liquidity management, and strategic capital planning. Mr. Karibian is an accomplished financial professional with more than 30 years of executive management experience in all areas of corporate finance including financial, operational, and market risk management. Prior to his employment with Midland, Mr. Karibian has worked at Huntington Bancshares, Inc., National City Bank and 5/3 Bank. Previously, he has held other positions with, Deloitte Consulting, and with KPMG.Mr. Karibian holds degrees in Economics, Accounting and Finance; In addition, he has earned the designations of Chartered Global Management Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (CPA®-inactive status), and Certified Managerial Accountant.
Steven Miller, originally from Louisville, IL. A Graduate of the University of Missouri - Rolla, with a degree in engineering. He worked five years at the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency in Springfield, IL. He then worked seven years for private engineering firms in Paducah, Kentucky. Steve was employed by the City of Effingham as an Engineer on February 19, 2001 and was appointed City Engineer on May 1, 2001 and served in that role for approximately 9 years before becoming the Director of Public Works, and serving in that role for approximately another 8 years. For the past year he has served as the City Administrator. Steve is married to Amy, who is currently employed by the Effingham Unit 40 School District as a Guidance Counselor. They have two daughters Katy (who attended EIU) and Jessica (who attends SIU-Edwardsville).
