Eastern Illinois University President William Perry along with the Department of Procurement, Disbursements and Contract Services invites business owners and citizens from Effingham and surrounding counties to the Eastern Illinois University Opportunity Fair. The event will take place Wednesday, April 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Thelma Keller Convention Center located at 1202 N. Keller Dr., Effingham, Illinois. The fair will provide an opportunity to raise awareness of university procurement procedures and business development along with existing services and valuable outreach programs that Eastern Illinois University offers to nurture student excellence and enrich personnel growth. In other words, ?What can EIU do for you and what can you do for EIU?? Key personnel from EIU?s Procurement Department will be available to discuss areas of interest which may include but are not limited to, catering, facilities maintenance and operations, office and janitorial supplies, construction services, information technology, printing, landscaping, medical equipment and supplies, and professional services. Personnel from educational areas of interest may include but not limited to The College of Sciences Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences, The Autism Center, and The Speech/Language/Hearing Clinic, Sustainable Entrepreneurship through Education & Development (SEED), Psychology Clinic, and Continuing Education?s Academy of Lifelong Learning. The fair will include representatives from Eastern Illinois University, President William Perry, Interim Vice President, Paul McCann, for Business Affairs/Treasurer, Kay McElwee, Director of Procurement, Disbursements and Contract Services, and local government officials and state dignitaries.
