SUMMARY:Hands on Homeschooling
DESCRIPTION:Join Renee Schwartz for a series of educational workshops open to the public. Ms. Schwartz received a B.A. in Philosophy from Smith College and a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College. She is a certifed public school teacher\, also has Montessori Lower Elementary teacher training and is currently pursuing training as a Waldorf teacher for Elementary and High School. She has been a professional curriculum writer and homeschool consultant for over a decade. These workshops allow for a unique side-by-side comparison of Waldorf and Montessori education in a variety of school subjects for students aged 6 to 14. These workshops would be of interest to elementary and middle school teachers at public and private schools\, as well as students going through teacher training at the university level. They would also be valuable to families who homeschool their children. These free workshops will give participants an opportunity to touch and explore these European curriculum materials as well as view student work samples\, discuss specific educational techniques\, and ask follow-up questions in a quiet and relaxed setting. Registration Required.
